Barbara Ann Miles

Mrs. BARBARA ANN Garrett- MILES was born on December 7, 1935 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the "Late Arthur Lee and Ida Belle (Freeman) Garrett.  She was the first born of a family of nine children.

In 1944 the "Garrett" family relocated to Buffalo, New York.  Barbara was educated in the Buffalo Public school system.  She was baptized at the Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership and teachings of the "Late E.D. Mc Neeley."  Barbara loved the Lord and proclaimed his"word!".

Barbara united in holy matrimony  on December 4, 1969 to the late Jimmie Lee Miles.  They grew closer during their "38" years of marriage.  He preceded her in death in 2003.  She worked for many years in the Medical Assisting field.  Her patients loved her smile and attitude.  After many, many years she received to care for her husband.  She loved to cook, watch wrestling on television and playing cards.  She proudly boasted about her card playing skills!

Barbara departed this life on Monday, January 1, 2018 at Sister's Hospital.  We "all" loved her, but the Lord loved her best and decided it was time for her to be with him.  With fond memories she leaves behind her Daughter, Ida Belle Harris and one granddaughter, Danesha Artis.  Barbara was preceded in death by two sisters: Seveeta Marine and Mitilda Elizabeth; three brothers; John Henry and James Walter and Arthur Jr.  Her surviving brothers are Crosby Lee; Rodger F. and Robert Edward, all of Buffalo, New York; and her special son "Carlos".  "Robert" was her "UBER DRIVER", taking her shopping and to all her appointments.  Close relatives, nieces and nephews who will all truly miss her smile.

Family will receive friends Monday, January 8, 2018 10:00  a.m. at Mt. Aaron Missionary Baptist Church, 538 Genesee Street, Buffalo, New York 14204.  Funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m.

Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
