Welcome to the memorial page for

Cleveland Ford, Sr.

April 27, 2016 ~ April 27, 2016

CLEVELAND FORD, SR., was born January 1,1928 in Memphis Tennessee.  He was blessed to the union of the late Morgan Ford Jr. and Annie Williams.

Cleveland married the former Geraldine Askew in Memphis, TN, relocating to Chicago, Illinois for several years before settling in Buffalo, New York.  He was a Diesel Mechanic for Maslin Transport, retiring after years of gainful employment. Cleveland accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.

Cleveland loved to fix things and travel.  During his career, he drove trucks with Elvis Presley before he became famous.  Elvis would travel and strum his guitar and Cleveland could not stand it!  Aside from Elvis’ public rise to fame, Cleveland had his own claim to fame and was the life of the party anywhere he went.  But most of all, he love spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Cleveland passed from this life to glory to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 26, 2016.

Cleveland is preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Askew Ford; two brothers, Main Ford and Crosby B. Ford; three sisters, Leatha Ford, Erma Ford and Ernestine Ford Pilcher; and son-in-law, Lorenzo Ecford.

His memories will continue to live on through his family: one daughter, Erma D. Ecford; six sons, William, Cleveland Jr, Wendell (Theresa), Montgomery (Traci), Crosby (Quandra) and Kevin (Ellann) Ford; grandchildren, Geraldine Ford (His “Pudding Wuddin”), Sonia Ford (His “POOH”), Markeita Middlebrooks (His “Smokey”), Cleveland J. Ford, III (Didi), Kevin A. Ford, Anthony Ford, Christopher Ford (Rebecca), Dominique Ford, Shana Ford (His “Shake-a-Booty”), Teeshawnna Ford, Marcell Lewis, Tymica Dalton (Will) Tyshica Byno, Tondill Byno (Malika), Terrell Ford, Markel Ford, Kalaugh Ford; one nephew, Willie Morgan Stokes (Ann) and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
