Dorothy Mae Brown

DOROTHY MAE BROWN, known to family and friends as Dot, was born on February 17, 1948 to the Thomas H. Brown and Martha J. (Evans) Brown in Uniontown, Alabama.

On January 16, 2018 the angle of silence came and visited Dot in the Cleveland Clinic Hospital.

Dot confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized by the late Reverend Whitfield Washington Jr. at First Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a member until her death, now under the leadership of Pastor Jason J. Drayton.

Dot worked for Millard Fillmore Hospital (Gates Circle) in the Environmental Services Department for 30 years, retiring in 2012.

Dot attended Buffalo Public Schools #6, 12 and 47 graduating from Fosdick Masten High.

She was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to many.

Her lobbies included; being able to help anyone who needed her, she also had a keen eye for home decorating, and always talking about family history.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas & Martha Brown; brother, James Brown Sr; and son, Andre C. Brown Sr.

Dorothy leaves to mourn her daughter, Patrina Brown; son, DeMario Morris; 1 brother, Melvin (Sheila) Evans; 2 sisters, Brenda Brown and Diane Brown, all of Buffalo, NY ; 1 goddaughter, Connie Woods; 1 godson, David White; 8 grandchildren, Andre (Daneka) Jones, Michelle Thorton, Brandon Davis, Adrian, Aaron, Avery, Andrea and Jeremy Brown; 2 great-grandchildren, Adecia and Adriel Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at First Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 467 William Street, Buffalo, New York 14206.  Funeral to follow at 12:00 p.m. ​Interment held at Ridgelawn Cemetery.
