Welcome to the memorial page for

Harron Jones, Sr

May 22, 2016

HARRON JONES, SR. suddenly departed this life early Sunday morning, on May 22, 2016.  He was born to the late Guss and Lois (Jennings) Jones on April 17, 1945 in Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Harron attended schools #6, #87,  and South Park High School, graduating in 1970 with a diploma in Industrial Arts from Buffalo Evening High School at East.  During his lifetime, he had numerous accomplishments, becoming a plumber, a welder, a personal care aide, a butcher,  an auto mechanic and also obtained his truck driver’s certification.

Harron met and married Marsha C. (Sawyer) Jones and to this union, a son, Harron Jr., was born.  Later while in Georgia, he united with Pamela E. Bolden, welcoming their daughter, Ericka into the world.  It was here Harron was gainfully employed at a rock quarry.

Relocating back to Buffalo, a friendship blossomed into a beautiful partnership with Clara Jones, of whom he shares his most fondest of memories with. Harron accepted Christ at an early age at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clark, Georgia. He was a well-known and very respected member of his community. Harron was a joyful person to be around, quick-witted and playful. He will be missed at all social gatherings, especially by family.

He leaves to cherish his memory a constant and committed life-partner, Clara Jones; one devoted son and namesake, Harron (Candace) Jr.; doting daughter, Ericka (DaRahn); step children Kenneth L. Holt and Rochelle D. Holt; 12 affectionate grandchildren, Ashley, Ariel, Jermisha, Briana, Jasmine,  Aaron, DaRahn Jr., Erick, Da'Naeya, Anthony, Nia, and Isaiah; three great-grandchildren, Londyn, Ariana, and Messiah; three sisters, Gloria Jean Pointer, Hazel (LeMoyne) Hill, and Sharon M. Burgin; two brothers, Augustus (Belzora) Jones and Joseph (Alma) Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Family will receive friends Saturday, May 28, 2016, 10am at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 701 E. Delavan Ave.  Funeral to follow at 11am. Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
