Jerry H. Brown, Sr.

JERRY H. BROWN, SR. ​was born on December 20, 1944 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late James Humphrey Brown, Sr. and Eugenia Brown. On June 9, 2017, Jerry was called home from this life into the open arms of the Creator.

At an early age, Jerry and his adopted mother, the late Julia Barnett, relocated to Buffalo, New York. Jerry received his education in the Buffalo Public School System. After high school, Jerry enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country dutifully from 1962 until his honorable discharge in 1965.

Jerry was employed as an Assembler at ITT Standard, located in Cheektowaga, New York, retiring after many years of gainful employment. During his tenure at ITT Standard, he was introduced to Josephine Brown. They united in holy matrimony on June 9, 1990.

Jerry was a good bowler and loved playing cards with his family and friends. He will truly be missed.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 27 years, Ms. Josie Brown; three sons, David L. Richardson Jr., Jerry H. Brown, Jr. and Angelo Brown; four grandchildren, David L. Richardson III, Zoey Richardson, Amari Garcia-Brown, and Avion Garcia-Brown; six sisters, Sandra Lester-Brown, Debra Williams (Robin), Rongelynn Brown, Reesha Brown, Reshika Brown, and Robin McNair; three brothers, James Humphrey Brown, Jr. (Rosa), Dwayne Williams, and Ryan Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 Jerry is preceded in death by one sister, Anna Edward; and one brother, Louis Anthony Brown.

Family will receive friends 11am at Brian K. Lewis Funeral Home, 2528 Bailey Ave., Buffalo, New York.  Funeral to follow at 12 noon.
