Junius L. Baines, Jr.

January 16, 2018

JUNIUS L. BAINES JR., was born in Buffalo, New York on April 12, 1959.  He was one of four children to Junius L. Baines, Sr. and Pauline (Harris) Baines.

As a young boy Junius nicknamed "Bookey" loved to attend Sunday School at Antioch taught by Mother Catherine White, Mother Ruby Bowman, Mother Vergil Young and Superintendent Reverend John MacDougal especially at Christmas and Easter when they gave out goody bags.

Junius graduated from Lafayette High School, where he was a member of the track and field team, swim team and bicyclist club to name a few.  He joined the U.S. Navy and traveled.  Thereafter, he decided to further his education by going into the health field where he worked for many years.

Junius was a big fan of Bruce Lee and Martial Arts in the 70's and studied Isshin-ryu.  He loved collecting comic books, beating everybody in the neighborhood in chess, sketching and was a winning artist in a poster contest at school which was later used for advertisement.

Junius was preceded in death by his father Junius, Sr. and his youngest brother, Rodney L. Baines (Cuba, NY).
