Melvin F Knoll, Jr.

MELVIN F. KNOLL, JR. was born August 8, 1941 in Buffalo, NY to the union of Melvin F. and Anna Knoll, Sr.  He is one of four children: Patricia (Herman Clouse), Alice (Thomas Clouse), and the late Richard (Christina) Knoll.  He departed this life November 30, 2016.

Melvin attended Buffalo Public Schools and graduated with his GED in 1958.  In the Fall of 1958, Melvin began his career at Bethlehem Steel, working until their close in 1983.  In 1983, he reopened Knoll's Window Cleaning and operated it until 1989.  In 1999, he then operated the subsidiary, Star Lite Window Cleaning, alongside his co-owner and daughter, Clare Knoll until 2016.

From 1965-1975, Melvin was united in holy matrimony to Kathleen Knoll; to this union four children were born: the late Kathy (1965), Melvin F. Knoll, II (Kimberly), Bridget (the late Joe Scagnelli), and Merry (John Acosta).  He then remarried in 1976 until 2015, to the late Clare T. Knoll (Zmuda) and to this union two daughters were born: the late Marie (1977) and Clare F. (Knoll) (Mark Raslawsky).

In addition, Melvin is survived by three stepchildren, Nasser "Joe" Alkhatib, Lylia Alkhatib (Alfonso Guzman), and Brenda (Phil Michalowski).

He is survived by 21 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Melvin's hobbies included bowling, watching the Bills and Sabres games, he loved boxing and enjoyed watching Kung-Fu movies especially Bruce Lee.  He loved to dance,  listen to music and enjoyed imitating Elvis Presley.
