Pamela D Burden

PAMELA D. BURDEN was born August 31, 1961 in Washington, DC to the late Margie Quarles and Marvin Sloan. She relocated to Buffalo, New York in 1969.

Pamela attended East High School and later in life gained her General Studies Diploma from EOC. Pamela was employed with Buffalo Powder; she was a seamstress and a homemaker.

Pamela was loved by many. Known to many as “Shorty P,” she could cook like no other! She loved dancing, riding her bike (Cadillac) and visiting with friends and family (after all of her soap operas). She also loved watching Lifetime movies and Law & Order with her daughters, whom she cherished more than life itself. Pamela was an amazingly strong woman with a genuine heart of gold.

On Saturday, February 17, 2018, Pamela was called from labor to reward. She is preceded in death by her parents, Margie Quarles and Marvin Sloan; and her brother, George Leverette.

Pamela leaves to cherish her memories her two daughters, Tabitha S. Williams and Chawanda (Benjamin) Foster; long time companion, Mark Strong; five grandchildren, Ta’Janay Piper, Anthony Cornwell Jr., Ney’iana Nelson, Marvin Jones and Tati’yianah Jones; two great-grandsons, Riley Stroud and Javion West; three brothers, Edward (Dill) Quarles, Kenneth Sloan and Roosevelt Feagin; one uncle, Edward (Joyce) Quarles of Buffalo, NY; three aunts, Mary Bruce of Washington, DC, Catherine Grant of Brooklyn, NY and Delores Quarles of Buffalo, NY, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

Family will receive friends Friday, February 23, 2017, 2pm at True Bethel Baptist Church, 907 E. Ferry St. Funeral to follow at 3pm. Home Going Services will be held to honor the life of Pamela Burden and her brother, George Leverette, who transitioned a few short days prior.
