Thomas Desmond

THOMAS DESMOND was born November 14, 1963 in Charlestown, Massachusetts to the late William and Carole Desmond.  He departed this life Thursday, June 16, 2016 in Hospice House in Lockport, New York.

Thomas attended Charlestown High School.  He relocated to Niagara Falls, NY.  August 10, 2002, he was united in holy matrimony with the former Kelly Holloway.  

Thomas loved Boston team sports, computer games, going to the casino, and most of all, spending time with family.  He was a very caring and dedicated friend, and through his own battles, would drive the distance to see about a sick loved one.  

Thomas was the first person in Western New York to receive a heart parachute put in as a test subject by the Buffalo Heart Group, and by having that device gave him many more years than he otherwise would have had.  He agreed to this selfless procedure so that others would benefit from this device in the future.  He will be truly missed.

Thomas leaves to mourn his loving wife, Kelly Desmond; children, Kevin Stokes, Daniel Hahn, Jennifer (Luigi) Gibson and Jeffrey Gibson; siblings, Penny Appleton, Janet Desmond, Joanne (Joe) Foster, William Desmond, Jr and Donna (Donald) Blaikie; five grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.   

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016, 11:30am in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett, Massachusetts, where he will be laid to rest with his parents.  A Celebration of Life to follow at Bunker Hill Knights of Columbus #62 following the interment.
