William Miller Obituary

WILLIAM MILLER,was born on September 7, 1929 in Lackawanna, New York to the late Carrie L. Jones-Miller and the late John Miller.   On March 4, 2018 after a brief illness William transitioned into eternal peace.  

William first marriage (1955 to 1979 to the late Coleate Miller was blessed with 3 sons and 2 daughters.  William later married Karen Miller (1988 to present) and this marriage was blessed with 3 daughters and 1 son.

William served in the United States Army from November 20, 1946 to December 9, 1953 when he received an honorable discharge.  William rank in the military was Sargent.  He served with 1745 Company C 112 Infantry.  William served 2 years and 9 months overseas during this he time he served in WWII and the Korean War.  William received several medals for his dutiful services: 2 Good Conduct Medals; Army of Occupation Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

William received his GED in Buffalo NY.  He was a welder for Harper's Electrical Furnace, where he retired after many years of service.  William's hobbies included reading, bowling, and cooking.

Proceeding William in death is 1 brother Elnois J. Wells; 1 son Eugene Miller; 1 daughter Phyllis Miller.

William leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife Karen Miller, 1 brother Edward C. Miller of Liberty, NY, 3 sons John (Gloria) Miller of Stafford, VA; William (Susan) Miller Jr. and Dontaye Miller of Buffalo, NY; 7 daughters: Sally Miller, Shirley Darby, Chandra Miller, Eboney Miller all of Buffalo, NY; Theresa Miller of Maryland; Jennifer Miller and Diane Miller of Syracuse, NY; 1 cousin: Margie Dunovant of Buffalo, NY; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Family to receive friends on Friday, March 16, 2018 11:00 am at Brian K. Lewis Funeral Home, 2528 Bailey Ave., Buffalo, New York 14215.  Funeral to follow at 12 noon.

Burial Forest Lawn Cemetery.
