ALICIA JONES was born July 30, 1953. The daughter of Eddie Anderson and Edna Black of Buffalo, New York, Alicia came from a combined family of four sisters and seven brothers. She lived in Buffalo her entire life and attended schools in the Buffalo Public School System. At the young age of fourteen, she met a man she never knew would be the person she would spend the rest of her life with, her husband, Louis Jones. She married Louis, the love of her life, at the age of sixteen. They were married on July 12, 1969 at the Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Sterling Mills. Today would be their 49th wedding anniversary. Out of this union came six children.
Alicia worked for General Motors for thirty years and retired in 2007. After retirement, she started doing all the things she loved, playing Pokeno, spending her days with friends and family, and going to BINGO and scratch-offs. Whenever you asked her what she wanted or needed, she would say, "Just get me some scratch-offs." Lisa loved her canine babies, Mr. Beasley and Beaudiwagg. Her dogs were her joy to her life, and they will miss her so much.
Alicia was the matriarch of the family, keeping things running smoothly and continuing a legacy of love that so many gave her. She was "Li," "Lisa", "Ma," "Grannie, "Grandma, " "Sis," friend, confidante, beloved daughter...was she everything!
Alicia is preceded in death by her mother, Edna Black and father, Eddie Johnson.
