DAVID T. PENNY, was born August 28, 1945 in Buffalo, NY into the loving family and Issac and Emma Mae Penny.
David was educated in the Buffalo Public School System and attended and graduated from East High School. Following high school, David sought employment and ventured into the Construction Industry working for various companies, including Ciminelli Construction, for 40 years. During his final tenure, David was gainfully employed by Buffalo Board of Education as a Carpenter, retiring in January 2009 after ten years.
In his pastime, David enjoyed traveling and taking trips. His greatest passion was maintaining his property, whether it was cutting grass, washing his cars, or fixing the minor repairs around the house. David had a “green thumb,” and could be found tending to yard work and planting his lovely rose bushes. He took pride in making his home beautiful. Always willing to lend his hands, David was a member of the Fruit Belt Block Club.
On Monday, May 21, 2018, at the age of 72, David T. Penny answered the call to be at rest with his Heavenly Father.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Issac and Emma Mae Penny and two brothers, Issac “Rico” and Ralph Penny.
David’s precious memories lives on in the hearts of his wife, Michele R. Penny; one daughter, Teresa Penny; three sons, Lamar Corley, Derrick Penny and Darren Penny; two brothers, Ray Penny and Robert Penny; one granddaughter, Nylah Corley; three grandsons, Lamar Corley, Daytaun Moore and Derell Payne. He also leaves a host nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, May 30, 2018, 10am at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, 55 Grape St. Funeral to follow at 11am. Interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
