George Leverette Obituary

GEORGE LEVERETTE, father, son, husband and brother, was called home on Thursday, February 15, 2018 to be with the Lord after his battle with cancer

George was born in McCormick, SC to the late Margie Quarles and Athel Leverette. Shortly after birth, George relocated to Washington, D.C. and in 1969 he took up residence in Buffalo, New York. He graduated from East High School, furthering his education at Erie Community College.

George served in the United States Army, later venturing off into construction. He achieved other accomplishments, receiving certificates in pharmaceuticals and culinary arts.

George was a very family-oriented man who surrounded himself with family and friends at gatherings and cookouts, often being the life of the party and the jokester. Known as “Mr. Dollar” to some, he was very caring and generous. Being the doting and devoted father, nothing compared to the love he had for his three daughters, Monica “Slip Away,” Latoya and Sarah “Bird.”

George leaves to cherish his memories three daughters; four grandchildren, Deiyon, Darieyon, Kaydynce and Madison; siblings, Kenny, Vaughn, Ed and Pamela, who after a few short days was also called home to be with the Lord.

He also leaves to mourn his long-term companion, Robin (Jennifer, Devery and grandchildren); one uncle, Ed; three aunts, Catherine, Mary and Dee as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Family will receive friends Friday, February 23, 2018, 2pm at True Bethel Baptist Church, 907 E. Ferry St. Funeral to follow at 3p. Interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
