Jaylana M. Walker

The Journey began for JAYLANA MARTWSH'E (LAY LAY) WALKER on April 20th, 2009 in Lewiston, New York and the pages of life suddenly closed early in the morning , January 1, 2019.  Although Jaylana was only nine years old, God Blessed her to live a full life.

She attended Henry J. Kalfas Magnet School where she excelled in her academics, she was a part of the Gymnastic Club and Girl Circle and other booster clubs.

Jaylana enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing dolls, and dress up.  She would dance around the house all say making musically videos and loved walks to the local corner store.  She had a way of making those around her laugh.

Jaylana's smile was infectious.  She was a ray of sunshine, filled with so much love and energy, and touched so many lives in just a short time.  Her impact was evident because she encouraged others to participate in community clean-up projects.

Jaylana had been battling with Type 1 diabetes since the age of four; yet, in spite of her battle, she was still a huge help to her mom with her younger siblings.

Jaylana leaves to cherish her memories, her beautiful mother, Justina Williams (Larry Taylor), father, Tyree (Nicole) Walker; seven siblings; Ke'ajahnae Walker, Londyn Taylor, Lyira Taylor, Tyree Walker, Jr. and Ke'ire Walker, La'Ron Taylor, Jazari King, maternal grandparent MArgot Williams, paternal grandparents, Valerie (Jacob Winn) McBride (all of Niagara Falls, NY) and Travis (Gwendolyn) Walker of Chicago, IL, two aunts; Jessica WIlliams and Tameka Moore; one uncle, Jacob J. WInn; Grandmother, Mercedez Ubiles; and Godfather, Diron Brown.  Special friends; Sonya Parmer, Alaya Lewis, Kimora Brewer, Essence Shipp, Sirenity King, Idan Lightfoot, Arrmoni Askew, and Taliyah Spruill was well as a host of cousins, friends and other relatives.

She is predeceased by her maternal grandfather Jesse Williams.

Family will receive friends Monday, January 7, 2019 11:00 am at Disciples of Christ Church, 4001 McKoon Ave., Niagara Falls, New York 14305.  Funeral to follow at 12 noon.  

Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
