Jessie Young

JESSIE YOUNG, 74, of Buffalo, NY peacefully passed away at home on May 21, 2018.  He was the only child born to the late Crawford and Catherine Young on June 18, 1943 in Chester County, South Carolina.  He attended elementary school in Washington, DC and high school in Buffalo, NY.

On September 14, 1963, he married Maxine Lorraine Taylor, and from this union which lasted 25 years, Justine Lorraine and Ardella Catherine were born.  Later in life he met his life partner, Cathy Napier, with whom he shared over 30 wonderful years.

Jessie served his country honorably for 20 years in the US Army Ready Reserves and retired in 1993 as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer.  As a civilian, he worked 27 years as a Machinist for Worthington Pump and 10 years for ITT Industries building specialized parts for US Naval Systems. Instead of enjoying his second retirement, he accepted an opportunity with Kaleida Health - Waterfront, where for five years he worked as a part-time Store Room Clerk, ensuring the staff and patients were never without the supplies they needed. 

Jessie leaves to cherish his memory his beloved partner, Cathy Napier; former wife, Maxine Young; two daughters, Justine Walker and Ardella Young and a host of family and friends near and far.

Graveside Services and interment will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 11am at Mt. Hope Cemetery-Ebenezer, NY.
