KRISTEN DEANN REDD touched everyone as a caring and thoughtful person. Those she encountered, mattered to her. She considered speaking with someone in their native language to be the greatest affection and absolute highest respect she could convey, while connecting through sincere conversation. She loved the study of language and culture. She sought to connect with people from around the globe to embrace them in their individual experience and the culture of their ethnicity. She believed the ability to read was a superpower that connects the writer through time to the reader. She devoted herself to promoting literacy and lifetime learning. As a wife, mother, musician, educator, entrepreneur, athlete and most of all, a woman after God’s own heart; her ability to show love was greater than all the challenges she faced. Despite her health conditions she defined herself by her ability to inspire others. Each step along her health journey Kristen made new friends and became family to the people treating her and those on parallel journeys. She prayed with others during chemo and embraced medical staff with blessings amid medical procedures. She balanced faith with humanity in her gentle and compassionate manner. Simply living her belief, “If you endure to the end, LOVE wins!”
