Marcia Lewis Obituary

MARCIA ANN LEWIS, lovingly known as Marshann, was born in Lackawanna, NY on June 7, 1950 to Reverend Eddie Ware and the late Inell Ware.  Marcia was baptized at a young age at Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the late Reverend T.C. Watson.  She graduated from Lackawanna High School in June 1968.

On August 4, 1984, Marcia entered in holy matrimony with Larry Lewis Sr.  From this union, they begot Sharneen, Larry Jr., Shartrece , and Darnell.  

Marcia served faithfully as a pastor's wife; she was the former First Lady of Triedstone Baptist Church and ended her tenure as First Lady New Bethel Church Ministries.  Marcia served on her usher board, youth committee, the Pastor's Aide Committee, as a deaconess, the kitchen ministry, sang in the choir, and served in other church ministries.

Throughout her lifetime, Marcia enjoyed working various seasonal jobs. Marcia loved to shop and dress!  She was a Good-fearing woman and a great cook.  Marcia loved to help.  She sacrificed a lot and gave much.

She leaves to cherish memory, her loving husband Larry J. Lewis Sr.; four children, Sharneen (Nate) Verge, Larry (Toni) Lewis Jr., Shartrece Lewis, and Darnell (Latia) Lewis; he father Reverend Eddie Ware; one grandson, Josiah Lewis; granddaughters Kyla Martin and Maryiah White;one sister Yvonne Ware and one brother Michael (Brenda) Ware, brothers-and-sisters-in-law George Lewis, Ronald (Cheryl) Lewis, Donald Lewis, Sharon Lewis; God-children Sydney Gripper, Simmone Johnson, Marshawn Jemison; special sistah friends, Martrece Ware Norris, Willie Ferguson, Mary Helen Thompson, Bettye Jean Jackson, Margo Richardson, Vernitia King, Vicky Jacobs-Johnson, Janice Nelson, Mayme Woods, and Laverne Ware; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother Inell Ware, and her brothers, James Johnson and Sylvester Ware.

Family will receive friends 7-9 pm Friday, December 13, 2019 and 10 am Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 66 Wasson Ave. Funeral to follow at 11 am.
