RUBY LIAS was born on February 16, 1936 in Clarksdale, Mississippi to the union of the late Jack Brock and the late Mary Smith. Mrs. Ruby Lias received her education in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
At an early age, Ruby dedicated her life to Christ and later married the late Isaac Lias in 1954 in Mattison, Mississippi. In 1957 she and her family moved to Buffalo, New York where she continued to serve the Lord and later became a member of Evangelistic Temple.
Mrs. Ruby Lias was employed as a Crossing Guard for Public School #31 and later became employed at Freezer Queen Foods where she remained for over 35 years.
Mrs. Ruby Lias was a very spirited and loving woman. She opened her doors to almost everyone. She loved to laugh and she had a smile that would light up the sky. After a long illness, Mrs. Ruby Lias departed her life on June 16, 2018 at 2:25 A.M.
She 's preceded in death by her loving husband Mr. Issac Lias, her one and only son, Larry Lias Sr., eighteen siblings, Jerry Brock, Jack Brock, Elmo Brock, Dan Brock, Chip Brock, Jeff Brock, Cornelius Brock, Melvine Stuckey, Lena Mae Campbell, Lili Bee Creg, Mayba Lee Jackson, Mary Lee Duprice, Ella Wee Wren, Ethel Stokes, Little Kigil, Jane Mae Dukes, Aliene Brock and Bertha Bee Brock. Ruby leaves to cherish her memories, her two brothers, George Brock and Lou Brock, one daughter Getrude Lias and a loving sister-in-law, Nancy Lias; Six grandchildren, Edward Pearsall (Tanya), Melvin Hooks (Jamika), Larry Lias Jr. (Sharonda), Angela Lias (Jermaine), Adrian Lias (Natasha) and Tywanda Crosby (Albert) all of Buffalo, New York; 35 great grandchildren and a close friend of the family, Ronald Richardson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Aaron Missionary Baptist Church, 540 Genesee Street, Buffalo, New York, 14204. Funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m.
Interment St. John's Cemetery, Cheektowaga, New York.
