Tauheedah A-Kareem

TAUHEEDA A-KAREEM, affectionately called Tony, was born to the late Gertrude and William Davis in Buffalo, NY. She was baptized and raised in Trinity Baptist Church. Tauheeda graduated from Fosdick-Masten High School in 1964. She then attended SUNY at Buffalo, where she majored in Nursing. Tauheeda also attended Bryant and Stratton Business School.

Tauheeda was proudly employed at the VAMC and Kenmore Mercy Hospital, where she was a Nursing Assistant. Tony made a career of being a Private Duty Health Aide.

in 1976, Tony became a devoted Muslim and began following the teachings of Islam. In 1983, she legally changed her name to Tauheedah, while residing in Cleveland, OH for four years.

After a lengthy illness, Tauheedah made the decision to suspend care and allow for Allan to take her home to the hereafter. She departed this life Friday, April 27, 2018.

She leaves to mourn four children, Shirlette Davis, MArlece Davis Darden (Willie), Nathette Davis and Jerome Bussy, Jr; one sister, Betty Jean Davis; eight grandchildren, Shalece, Alexis, David R., Asis, Larry, Craig and Cierra; two nieces, Alvona Raydell Jones and Sharone Pace (Rudolph). She is also a grandmother to Tiawan, Devin, Marty, Alaina and David; great-grandmother of eleven, and a friend to many.

Prayers will be held Saturday, April 28, 2018, 1:30pm at Masjid Al-Eiman, 444 Connecticut St. Interment will be held at Lakeside Cemetery.
