Thomas Bobbitt Obituary

​THOMAS J. BOBBITT, "Tommy," age 61, ​was born February 19, 1956 in Lackawanna, New York to parents Joseph Bobbitt, Sr., and Shirley Bobbitt.  Thomas attended Lackawanna High School before enlisting in the United State Armed Forces.  Thomas was a member of both the United States Army and Navy for many years.  He received honorable discharges from both branches.  During his time in the United States Armed Forces he was a MP (Military Police) and Chef.

After leaving the United States Armed Forces, Tommy returned to Buffalo, New York where he worked as a Chef for many area restaurants until he decided to change his life in a different direction.  Tommy took the High School Equivalency Test and scored a near perfect score.  Thomas then enrolled  in Erie Community College where he was on the Dean's List and earned an Associates's Degree in Business Administration.  Thomas then went on to work for the Community Action Organization (CAO) in the Accounting Department until illness prevented him from working any longer. Thomas was a man of many talents; a disc jockey, chef, exceptional poem writer and a book of his poems are published.. He also had a heart of gold and loved his family. 

On November 30, 1996, Thomas married the love of his life Mironda Bobbitt and to his union one child was born, daughter Tarea Jalena Bobbitt.  Mironda preceded Thomas in death and he leaves to mourn his one and only beloved daughter, Tarea Jalena and his granddaughter,  De'or; step-son Carl Richardson; his father, Joseph Bobbitt, Jr; his sisters, Cynthia Hart (Charles),  Simmone Washington, Sandra Hamilton (Christopher)and JoAnn Bobbitt; his brothers, Melvin Bobbitt (Hazel), Joseph Bobbitt, Jr. and Dennia Bobbitt and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 66 Wasson Ave., Lackawanna, New York 14218.  Funeral to follow at 12 p.m. Interment at St. John's Cemetery.
