WESLEY HEZEKIAH MOULTRIE, SR., was born on February 28, 1940 to William Ashton Moultrie and Rebecca E. (Doughtry) Moultrie. At the age of 18 Wesley left his home in Dorchester, SC and moved to Buffalo, NY where he worked as an usher at the Apollo Theater on Jefferson Ave., where he met and married his first wife Rosetta Barnes. During his marriage to Rosetta he worked for Bethlehem Steel for a few years and then received his CDL license and began driving trucks for Huron and then Shuman Plastics. He then separated from Rosetta in the mid 1970's when he began seeing Delores (Young) Allen. He and Delores married in the mid 1990's. Wesley started to work for Buffalo Erie County Library also in the 1990's and retired from there in 2008. Wesley loved music, playing his guitar, enjoyed working on cars with family. Wesley was also creative with making and drawing things with his hands.
Wesley leaves behind his beloved sister Anne (Julius) Boyd, sons Wesley (Sonya) Jr., David (Wan) Sr., John Allen. Daughters Robin and Grace (Alex), nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and an abundance of family from Dorchester, S.C. all the way up to Buffalo, NY.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Rebecca, sister Grace, brothers Preston and Henry. Wife Delores, ex-wife Rosetta, son Richard , daughter Edythe and grandson Michael and Bryan.
Wesley was well loved by all and will be truly missed.
Family will receive friends 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Providence Memorial Chapel, 1275 Sycamore Street, Buffalo, New York 14211. Funeral to follow at 4:00 p.m.
Interment Dorchester Cemetery, Dorchester, South Carolina.
