William Sims Jr. Obituary

WILLIAM (BILL) SIMS JR., was born to the late William Sims, Sr. and Alice Jones Sims in Forsyth County, South Carolina on July 29, 1936.  He graduated from North East High School in Philadelphia, PA around 1954.  Bill seems to have always had an affinity to auto motor service.  Upon graduation of High School he worked as a machinist.

He also worked at Deversity Auto Repair Service Station for approximately 22 years along with other jobs, he worked at Westinghouse Corp until they closed the doors.

Bill worked at Buffalo International Airport as a Sky Cap for several years.  He also worked at Consolidated Freight until they went out of business.

Bill was a faithful member and served as Deacon and Church Announcer at Enter In Ministries FGBC under the leadership of his Pastor Rosetta Swain for 17 years.  Bill was also  an avid reader and writer.  It was very uncommon to see him without a novel in his possession.  He was also fond of both games Whist and Pinockle of which he Mastered both.

Bill leaves to mourn his first wife Pearl Sims.  HE is proceeded by his longtime companion, Ruby M. Carter Sims.  Additionally he leaves two sons WIlliam (Lloylita) and Charles, four daughters, Sheila (Larry), Sandra (Sherwood) Hardy, Debbie and Alicia.  Two sisters Renee & Arnet.  Sister-in-law Ruth Carter, and brother-in-law Warner Carter.  Two close friends Natalie Price, Cotrelle and a host of other nieces, nephews, grandchildren and other family and friends.

Family will receive friends 10:00 am Monday, September 16, 2019 at Providence Memorial Chapel, 1275 Sycamore Street, Buffalo, New York 14211.  Funeral to follow at 11:00 am.

Inurnment Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga, New York.
