Welcome to the memorial page for

Wonderene Harris

June 14, 2017

WONDERENE HARRIS (known as "Cookie" to family and past friends) was born October 6, 1946 in Chattanooga, Tennessee as the eldest of eight children to Juanita Bell.  She was 70 years old when she fell asleep in death.

Wonderene was married to Sammie L. Harris , Sr. at an early age.  Her mother and siblings relocated to Buffalo, New York where she loved and raised four children and three grandchildren.  She worked various jobs such as waitressing, Buffalo Public school aide, a Certified Health Aide then taking on a private duty case as a care taker to her husband and wife known as the Blums.  One day in between those jobs, she met Jehovah Witnesses at her door and soon pursued to change and lived her life as a Christian.  On June 4, 1983, she publicly dedicated her life, heart and mind to Jehovah through baptism baptism and immediately telling her family and friends about Jehovah and what he was offering us.  At the age of 50, she attended Erie Community College and obtained an Associates's Degree as a Drug Counselor.  She worked in the City Courts for a few years with Judge Russell and then was moved to her own personal office outside of City Court.  After a couple of years, she stopped working to continue field service and helped in taking care of her mother, Juanita and two of her grandchildren, Heather and Justin Harris until they were of age to leave.  Years later another grandchild, Heaven Walker came into her life at the age of 6 months who she raised until she became sick a year and a half ago.

Jehovah truly blessed and helped her through the loss of two sons: Sammie Harris Jr. and Kevin James.  Her precious memories are left with Jehovah her heavenly Father, her mother and four siblings:  Lewis, Delphia, Patricia and Gregory Bell.  One son: Timothy Harris(Lorenzo, Jamar and Marque Harris).  One daughter: Bridgette Harris-Stepney (La'Kia, Ky'Leya) Tunstall, Branesha, Steven Jr. (Kevin, (Kevin Jr.) Stepney and many more.

Memorial service will be held Sunday,  July 2, 2017 5 pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witness, 185 Kensington Ave., Buffalo, New York 14214.
