WYLONIA H. SMITH, 81, a vivacious farmer's daughter, was one of seven children born to the late Nathan Sr and Senola Harris on February 4, 1938 in Eutaw, AL.
Wylonia, affectionately called "Cookie," attended Summerville Industrial High School. On October 23, 1959, Wylonia married Payton Smith Jr. and to this union two sons were born: Kenneth Lorenzo Smith and Wayne Edward Smith.
Better employment opportunities and a desire to be closer to family, led Cookie to relocate and settle in Buffalo, NY. While in Buffalo, she worked at Trico Plant #2 and joined Cedar Grove Baptist Church of Buffalo, NY. Cookie was a faithful member and served as an usher for the church for many years.

Cookie was known for her one-line conversations such as, "I pay the cost to be the boss," "a hard head makes for a soft behind," and "only bet on yourself because you know what you can do."
