ALBERT J. WILSON affectionately known as A.J., was born October 18, 1926 to the late Arthur and Clara Wilson in Orrville, Alabama; he was one of four children.
A.J. was educated in the Alabama Public School System. Growing up in the South during an era where the etiquette of Jim Crow Laws touched every aspect of everyday life, education for Southern Blacks were less than adequate. As a result, black education was limited and A.J. entered into the workforce to support his family.
An American patriot, Albert desired to serve and defend his country. He proudly enlisted in the Navy during World War II, receiving an honorable discharge in 1946. Following discharge from the Navy, Albert, having experienced the customs of the South, relocated to the North, settling in Buffalo, New York. He met and married the former Georgiana Hicks; to this union, four children were born: Mary, Ralph, Ann Marie, and Ruby.
At an early age, Albert accepted Christ. He attended Antioch Baptist Church and currently a member of Calvary Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.
A.J. was an avid fisherman and loved to tell anyone about the fish he caught and the “Big One” that got away.
Living out the true meaning of brotherhood, Brother Albert J. Wilson was an active member of Paramount Lodge No. 73, Prince Hall Free & Accepted Masons for over 50 years. The love and fellowship from his brothers truly meant a lot to him.
On August 21, 2018, the Lord and his infinite mercy, called his faithful servant, Albert John Wilson, home into His open arms.
