ANGELIQUE NICOLE HOUSTON "ANGIE", aslo known as "Sweetness" 48 of Amherst, New York was born to Charlene S. Houston and Walter Tyson, (deceased), on March 31, 1971.
Angelique was educated in the Buffalo Public School system where she obtained her GED, after which joining the healthcare field, in 1999, as a certified PCA and HHA. Until 2001, she remained focused on helping others.
Angelique later attended Lake Shore Behavioral Health, where she received a certificate in Food Services. It was through this that she began using her family and friends as "Taste Testers" for her delicious meals.
Angelique fell victim to a battle with addicition, which she defeated, however she never stopped her pursuit of true happiness - Culinary Arts.
Durin her pursuit, she met her partner of 15 years, Regina Evans, affectionately known as "Bokey Baby".
Angelique's life was spent in Buffalo, NY where she stayed close tobher family and close friends, She was especially active in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed fashion, always dressed to impress, as she hardly owned a pair of sneakers. Each day she followed her daily routine: a morning cup of coffee, a fresh cigarette, and a long walk...all while listening to her 'jams'.
Angie was called home on January 22, 2020 unexpectedly. She is preceded in death by her mother, Charlene S. Houston; father, Walter Tyson; grandmother, Helen V Houston; grandfather, Herschel Norwood; and her sister Breone Boles.
Ange leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted life partner, Regina Evans; her only loving daughter Deondra C. Houston (Jacob & Nathaniel Staples); eldest son Nicholas M. Jenkins (E'nyah Jenkins); her "Black Boy" Martin M. Morris (Ca'Miya, Trinity, Kali'Love, Bryelle and Srenity Morris); Caring sister, Anita R. Lowe (LaTaya & Christoper Hawkins); Edward N. Johnson III (Cierra & Edward IV Johnson); Anthony C. Johnson (Myana, Anthony Jr., Mykeel, Alijah and Aniyah Johnson); Baby brother, Sharron L. Boles; dearest Aunt and Uncle, Karen and Darryl Dickinson; Charles Williams; Ernestine Smith; Shirley Ann Malone; Valeie Whitney and a host of relatives and friends.
Family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2020 at True Bethel Baptist Church, 907 E. Ferry Street, Buffalo, New York 14211. Funeral to folow at 11:00 a.m.
