In Loving Memory of Carmen Julia Matos Robles
Carmen Julia Matos Robles, better known as Mami, was born on December 9, 1948, in the vibrant town of Cataño, Puerto Rico. She was the first generation of her family to make the courageous move to the United States, eventually settling in the welcoming community of Buffalo, New York.
Carmen was a woman of many talents and passions, with a heart as warm as the Puerto Rican sun. She found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as crafting beautiful creations, playing bingo with friends, and whipping up delicious meals in the kitchen. Cooking for her loved ones was not just a chore for Carmen; it was a labor of love that she poured her heart and soul into.
As a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Carmen dedicated her life to nurturing and raising her family with unwavering love and care. Her home was always filled with laughter, warmth, and the mouth-watering aromas of her culinary delights where memories were made and cherished for generations to come. She had a special bond with her beloved dog Chewi, whose wagging tail and loyal companionship brought her endless joy.
Carmen had a zest for life that was infectious to all who knew her. She danced to the lively rhythms of salsa music, embraced silliness and humor in every moment, and never took life too seriously. Her love for all things Disney and Looney Tunes brought out her inner child, and her eyes sparkled with delight whenever she watched her favorite movies and TV shows.
A true fashionista at heart, Carmen had an eye for style and elegance that extended from her carefully chosen accessories down to her perfectly manicured nails. She took great pleasure in shopping for others, always ensuring that her loved ones looked and felt their best.
Carmen Julia Matos Robles was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco Matos Cabrera and Maria Robles, as well as her siblings, Evangelista Matos, Candido Matos, Angel Matos, Felix Matos, Roberto Matos and grandchild Roberto Torres.
Carmen leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will forever be cherished by her siblings, Francisco Matos, Ana Matos, and Jose Matos. She is survived by her children, Felix Rolón, Sonia Kuilan, Carmen Lozada, Rosa Lozada, Domingo Lozada, and Jenifer Rinard, along with a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry her spirit with them always.
Carmen Julia Matos Robles will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her light-hearted spirit, boundless love, and infectious laughter will live on in the hearts of those she touched forever. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave during her time on this earth.
