Darius R. Spates Jr.

 ~The Life of Darius Spates Jr.~

Darius R. Davis Spates, affectionately known as "CoCo" due to his unique red hair, was born on March 16, 1982, to the late Darius R. Spates Sr. and Catherine Spates Davis. He attended Buffalo Public School #74 and graduated from Bennett High School.

Darius was his mother's "daredevil," always getting into everything. He had a passion for fixing things, working with his hands, and a deep love for music, particularly rap. In his young adult years, he shortened his nickname from "CoCo" to "Coke." He cherished his daughter, siblings, and family deeply. Coke was a showstopper, the "life of the party," fun, smart, very talkative, loving, and the oldest son of his mother, Catherine.

Most recent, Darius acquired a sewing machine and began working on several projects, including a men's suit line and a women's clothing line. He also enjoyed doing upholstery on vehicles and clothing and was always willing to try anything anyone asked of him. He was very passionate and proud of his work—a true creative spirit. He is missed immensely.

Darius is preceded in death by his father, Darius R. Spates Sr., his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William F. Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Spates. He leaves to mourn his mother, Catherine Davis; his siblings, Dorrial Bouldin, JaWan Spates, Anson Spates, and Keith Mack; his daughter, Amoni; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
