DESIRAY L. GIBSON, entered into eternal rest at the age of 65 peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at ECMC in Buffalo, New York.
Desiray was born to the late Elven & Ernestine Gibson on May 15, 1955. She attended Riverside High School, graduating in 1973.
Desiray's life extended throughout the Buffalo community. She worked at M&T Bank for 25 years. She assisted voters at the polls by being a poll inspector as well as many other things. She loved traveling, shopping, reading, game shows, sports and had a great eye for interior design. She was also an usher at Hopewell Baptist Church in Buffalo, New York.
Desiray was preceded in death by her sister Gwendolyn F. Gibson and brother, Elven (Gunn) Gibson. She is survived by her niece, Raquel Gibson, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond; her great nephew Tyrique Gibson, and her great nieces, Mahlonne Gibson, Myshaakan Gibson, Meccah Gibson and Monroe Gibson. Her siblings include Gary Gibson, Shakir Shabazz, Vernon Gibson, Ernest (Glenda) Gibson, John Bryant, Evelyn Gibson and Mary Gibson. Additional nieces and nephews include Tommy and Timothy Hayward, Marcell Ellis, Carla Quarels, Vernon Gibson, Jr., Jonathan Gibson, Geraad Gibson, Rodney("Hot Rod")Gibson, along wih a host of other relatives and friends including her best friend Bernice Clark.
Finally Desiray was survived by a very special friend, Lawrence Eakins.
Family will receive friends 1:00 pm Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Providence Memorial Chapel, 1275 Sycamore Street, Buffalo, New York 14211.
In compliance with the public health guidelines during the Covid-19 Pandemic, visitation will be monitored to limit gathering sizes based on the most current recommendations and a mask must be worn at all times.
