Remember Her life
Elvira Sales (Vie) was born on January 5th, 1963 in Buffalo, NY to Reuben Lewis and Georgia Turner-Hardy.
Elvira was a wonderful singer. While growing up, she used to pretend that she was a part of the Supremes, singing and dancing to their songs while wearing a wig. She also loved recording songs on cassette tapes.
One of the things she was most known for was her hair braiding skills. She had hair-braiding down to an art, being a master of her craft. You could always find her braiding someone’s hair.
Determined to finish her education, she attended night school as an adult and graduated with her high school diploma from Bennett Night School.
Elvira lived a simple life as a homemaker. She enjoyed reading novels, watching game shows and daytime drama. She most enjoyed being surrounded by family and cooking delicious, hardy meals for them.
As time went on, she finally dedicated her life to Christ, spending much of her time listening to gospel music and praying.
Elvira leaves behind her children Joseph Wynn II and Talisa Wynn of Buffalo, Nakeshia (Aiyo) Jones of North Carolina, Aleya-Marie (Zachary) Intrabartolo of Amherst, and Theodore Sales II of Buffalo; her partner Benjamin McNeill; five stepchildren; her brothers Roosevelt Turner and Emmanuel (Charlene) Lewis; her sister Loretta Lewis; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Those who preceded her in death are her parents and her husband; her sisters Juanita Davis, Brenda Lewis, and Laura McKichen; her brothers Willie Hardy, Robert Hardy, and John Hardy.
Elvira left this world after her struggle with illness. She may have left her body behind, but her soul will live forever. She will be sorely missed by a host of family and friends.
