Gwendolyn L. Cathcart

GWENDOLYN L. CATHCART, 70 of Buffalo, New York quietly answered the Masters call on Wednesday morning, February 19, 2020 at the break of dawn, now she is resting in her Saviors arms.

Gwendolyn was born September 3, 1949 in Buffalo, New York to the late James Edward Cathcart and Margaret H. White-Cathcart.  She was educated at East High School.  Gwen loved her family and strived day by to live her life by Psalms 51 (When thoughts of her come to your mind read this passage to encourage you.)

Her public life was filled with many accomplishments, accolades, victories, etc.  She was affiliated and had memberships with various organizations.  Far too many to list, but we'll share the African Cultural Center-Board Members, SCLC and the Alphonso "Rafi" Greene Jr. Resource Center.  She put her heart and soul into each one of them.

She leaves to cherish her memories, 3 daughters - Shalonda, Yolanda (Tyrone), Dalelah, 10 grandchildren-Leshanna Gaston, Tyshauna Gaston, Charles Dixon, Shannon Young, Tyrone Smalls, Tiaja Smalls Tiara Smalls, Tyler Smalls, Brian Collins, and Robert Graham Sr., 13 great-grand children Tyshawn, Arlington, Layette,Tatiyana, Jameer, Alona, Faith, Jeremiah, Damon, Davire, Aniala, Messiah, Robert Graham Jr.  Siblings - Deborah Burnett, Linda Wallace, James White (Pistol). A host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Danny Boy Cathcart and sister Earline Parmon.

 Family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March  7, 2020 at Brian K. Lewis Funeral Home, 2528 Bailey Ave., Buffalo, NY 14215.  Funeral to follow at 11 noon.
