Hershel Richardson

Hershel Richardson was born on December 24, 1942 in Montgomery, AL to the late John J. Richardson and Laverne Varner. He entered into eternal rest on November 26, 2024.

Hershel was devoted to loving the Lord and following His word. He was a dedicated member of the Metropolitan United Methodist Church of Buffalo, NY.

Hershel met the woman of his dreams, Bettie Jane Kennedy in 1969, and they married in 1971. They were blessed with four loving children: Demetrius, Hershel II, Tameka and Vernel. Hershel dedicated 40 years of hard work to General Motors from where he retired in 2007.

Hershel, enjoyed listening to his Classic Soul music and spending  quality time with family and friends, especially his grand-children. Hershel also enjoyed participating in activities with his church family and just relaxing at home.

Hershel was preceded in death by his parents: John and Laverne; wife Bettie; brother Johnnie; and one special nephew Darryl Richardson

Hershel leaves to cherish his memory, his four children:

Demetrius (Marian), Hershel II (Kimya), Tameka and Vernel; five grandchildren: Demetrius Jr., Jalen, Kiana, Hershel III and Kendall; one brother Jermone (Patricia) Richardson; sister Barbara Devone; and a host of other relatives and friends.
