Jesse Hendrix Obituary

JESSE LEE HENDRIX, (Big Dawg) 69 of Buffalo, New York was born to Stacey Richard  Herring and Jessie Lee Hendrix on October  24, 1950.  He entered rest on March 3, 2020 at the Buffalo Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing in Buffalo, New York.

Jesse was the oldest of 7 children born of Stacey and Jessie.  He attended school in Lackawanna, New York.  Shortly after school he joined the U.S Marines.  Jesse was honorably discharged in January of 1978.  The later part of his life he was an independent cab driver for Liberty Cab located in Buffalo, NY.

Jesse affectionately known as "Big Dawg", lived his life to the fullest.  He did things his way, he was a kind hearted person.  Jesse loved "Sweets" and a big glass of cold milk.  He also loved older model cars and dogs.  He was an active grandfather in his grandkids' football activities.

He was preceded in death by both his parents, Stacey & Jessie.  His two sons Darron Rice and Antwane Hendrix, his sister Linda Herring O'Field.

Jesse leaves to cherish his memories, his long time girlfriend Beverly McNamee.

His children Misty Hendrix, Jesse Hendrix Jr. (Corinda), Damon Hendrix (Keri), Samantha Hendrix, Johnathan Hendrix, Robert McNamee & Damone McNamee (Tiffany), (2) Brothers - Kevin Herring, Richard Herring; (5) sisters - Stacie Hendrix-Medley, Valerie Herring, Ora Herring, Geraldine (Herring) Griffin (Jimmie) and Kelly Herring.  Twenty-one grandchilden and seven great-grandchildren.  A host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.  He will be truly missed.  May he rest in peace!

Family will receive friends 10:00 am Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Brian K. Lewis Funeral Home, 2528 Bailey Ave. Funeral to follow at 11:00 am.
