Obituary

Juanita Mable Richerson was born in Buffalo, NY to Forest Richerson
and to Mable Mosby Richerson. She was preceded in death by her 3
siblings – Roosevelt, David, and Blanche. Juanita was peacefully
promoted to glory on May 8,
2022 after spending a short while in
Saffire Southtowns Nursing home. Her famous last words to her nurse
were, “I’m ok, I’m fine.” May that memory continue to bring comfort
in the days ahead.
Juanita leaves behind to cherish her memory sons Thomas Richerson,
Jimmy Richerson, and special son Reverend Larry Lewis, Sr., and
daughters Rose (Luke) Rowell of Las Vegas, NV, Carmen Richerson,
Robin (Alan) Thomas, and Joy Richerson all of Buffalo, NY. She also
leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, cousins, and
friends.
Juanita was a person who always made it clear that she loved God. It
is not known the exact date she accepted Christ as her personal savior,
but His presence was definitely evident in her life. She had the
awesome opportunity to worship with several local churches,
including Fillmore Community Church, One In Christ Temple, and
Tabernacle of Praise. Although she thoroughly enjoyed worshipping
at these places, her home was right here at The Buffalo Kensington
Salvation Army, where she was a faithful member of the Women’s
Ministry. She also looked forward to her virtual women’s fellowship,
Senior Power Hour.
Juanita loved to sing. If asked, some would say she was very funny;
others may have described her as a woman of few words. These
descriptions would be correct, but she also had a warrior spirit. It was
this warrior spirit that allowed her to persevere through many of life’s
hardships. It was this warrior spirit that kept her rooted and grounded
in God. No matter how hard life was, or how many disappointments
she encountered, she managed to keep Christ at the forefront. She is
quoted as saying, “God is the one you run to when you need help.”
Our hearts are heavy but still we have a reason to celebrate. We
celebrate because she has won the ultimate victory!! We celebrate
because every pain, every hurt, every disappoint, every heartache is
gone. AND FOR THIS WE GIVE GOD PRAISE!!!
