Mamie Williams Obituary

MAMIE LEE WILLIAMS went home to be with the Lord on January 4, 2020, after a sudden illness in Sisters Hospital at Buffalo, NY.

Mamie Lee was born to Mary Ann Strover and Chum Cunningham of Heath Springs, South Carolina.

She married William J. Baskins and they moved to Buffalo, NY.  They had 8 children.  Mamie married L. Paige and there were no children to this union.  Later she married Earl Williams and to this union a daughter was born.

She was a hard working woman.  She worked until the age of 70 at Matties on Fillmore Ave.

Mamie was a member of Mt. Arrat Baptist Church which she attended until she wasn't able, but she did attend weekly service at God City.

Mamie was preceded in death by both parents Mary Anne and Chum Cunningham, 3 husbands; William J. Baskins, L. Paige and Earl Williams and grandson Brian L. Cade.

Mamie leaves to cherish her memory 2 sisters Bell Twitty of Heath Springs, S.C., Carrie Patterson of Buffalo, NY, Dear Friend Mr. Earnest.  9 children: Christine Smith (Willie), Jean Williams, Vivian Brown (John), Cindy Cade (Kenneth), Patricia Baskins, William Baskins (Barbara), Micheal Baskins (June), Tracey Miles (Peter) and Lonetta Williams. 27 Grandchildren, 43 Great-grandchildren and 10 Great-great grandchildren and a host of family, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.  Her smiling face will be greatly missed and she was loved by many.

 

Family will receive friends on 11:00 a.m Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Young Tabernacle Holiness Church Assembly, 623 Best Street, Buffalo, New York 14211.  Funeral to follow at 12 noon.
