Minnie Bell Henderson

MINNIE BELL HENDERSON was born January 10, 1916 to the late Lee and Luticia Jackson in Raymond, MS.  The sun set on her life on October 15, 2018 at the amazing age of 102 years old.

Minnie relocated to Buffalo in the early 1940's, it was here she started her career at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, where she was employed for over 40 years until she retired. 

Minnie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized and became a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in 1953 where she was an active member for over 60 years until she became ill.

Minnie was married to the late Willie Henderson, and although to this union no children were born, she raised her nieces and nephews Lutitia Johnson-Ashe, Gloria Carson, Gregory Rucker and Darimedrick Magee.

She was preceded in death by her sister Johnnie Mae Miller, two brothers Artist James Jackson, and nephew Walter T. Jackson, all of whom she loved dearly.

To cherish her memories and continue her legacy, she leaves her nieces Lutishia Jackson of Raleigh, NC, Patricia Allen of Burlington, NC, Elizabeth Jackson, Keesha Miller, Shaton Miller all of Buffalo, NY, Mary Wilson, Gloria (James) Carson, Cora (Roy) Mason, Alice Rueterman, all from Mississippi; nephews Ernest Jackson of Burlington, NC, Edgar Miller, Lee (Linda) Jackson, David Jackson, all from Buffalo, NY, Alfonzo Jackson, Ronnie Jackson, and Charles Jackson of Mississippi; a host of great nieces, great nephews, relatives, beloved friends, close friends Michele Morgan, Onell Robinson and Carrie Baker.

 Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 25, 2018 11:00 am at Friendship Baptist Church, 402 Clinton Street,  Funeral to follow at 12 pm.

Interement at St. John's Cemetery.
