Ollie Sue Caver-Bradberry, a beloved mother, grounther, great-grandmother, and friend was born on May 3, 1906, fast outside of Selma, Alabama. On August 23, 2025, she entered into eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion that will forever be remembered.
From a young age, Ollie carried a nurturing spirit and a gift for caring for others. That calling led her into nursing, where she served faithfully for over 40 years. Throughout her career, she touched countless lives with her compassion, dedication, and steady presence. Patients, coworkers, and families alike were blessed by her kindness and professionalism
While Ollie's work as a nurse was central to her life, her greatest joy was always found in her family. She was a loving mother to her children-James Bradberry, Lillia Cunningham (Vanessa), and Steven Caver (Stevie)-and to her late son, Lawrence Bradberry, who preceded her in death. She poured her heart into raising her children, later finding great pride in her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. To them, Ollie was more than a grandmother-she was a mentor, a cheerleader, and a source of unconditional love.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, her siblings, and her son.
She loved sewing, cooking, sightseeing, and most of all, spending time surrounded by her family. Holidays, Sunday dinners, and simple family gatherings were always more special with her presence. She was the glue that held her family together, teaching by example the values of faith, perseverance, and love.
To know Ollie was to be touched by her warmth, her strength, and her unwavering love. Her life was a testament to service, family, and faith, and her legacy will continue to shine through the many lives she influenced. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
