Richard Blake Obituary

Richard L. Blake, affectionately called 'Dickie" was born on April 10, 1951 to Kay Bertha Feaster. On May 30, 1972 he wed Diane Smith, in Buffalo, NY. Where they raised their family of three children, Renita, Richard Jr. and Steven. He shared his life with his siblings: Patricia Young, Terry Feaster and Cheryl Feaster. Richard was called home on December 12, 2023.

He attended East High School, Richard worked at Chevrolet, he loved playing board games such as Monopoly and The Game of Life. Tonk was his favorite card game. Reading the newspaper was a pastime that he picked up from his mother. Lastly, he enjoyed grilling, fish frys, and playing pool. For 15 plus years he resided at his senior community, where he was affectionately known as "Dickie" and not only created neighbors, but brothers and sisters there. He was the community fixture, you could find him in the Atrium or out front greeting everyone that visited. That was his spirit, the life of every party.

He is preceded in death by his y•andmother Cora Wheeler; mother Kay Feaster; aunt Freddie Blake; sister Patricia Young; and brother Terry Feaster.

Richard leaves to cherish his memories, his children: Renita Smith Blake, Richard L. Blake Jr. and Steven B. Blake; seven grandchildren: Ashton D. Rainey, Patricia D. Shinners Blake, Cameron Blake, Kaleya B. Blake, Kyle Blake, Kenya B, Blake and Sir Blake M. Murphy; six great-grandchildren: Amirah, Kaylani, Cabriel, Kay'Mir, Athena and Camir; loving sister Cheryl Feaster (Lynn); favorite cousin: Yetta Blake; nephews: Kareem Daniels and Anthony Feaster; niece: Khamisha Brown; ex-wife Diane Davis (Blake); and a host of g•eat nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
