Robbie R. Stanfield

ROBBIE R. STANFIELD, 76 of Buffalo, New York passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Buffalo General Hospital.  She was born on June 24, 1943 tothe late Johnnie and Percy Stanfield.

  She attended Buffalo Public Schools and graduated with Honors from FosdickMasten High School for Girls.  After graduation she pursued a career in music which led her to become a back up singer for many of today's well known artists such as Aretha Frankin, Natalie Cole and Patti Labelle.

She then decided to go in a new direction where she began to explore gospel music and became the only female in an all male gospel group.  She sang with such well known icons as The Gospel Keynotes, The Famous Northington Singers and has recorded songs like "Somewhere around Gods Throne", "You've been good to me" and a host of many others.

It was at the end of this that she developed an appreciation for the Truth and became interested in the study of Jehovahs teachings and was baptized on June 27, 1975 and dedicated her life and service to Jehovah.

She would always say, "I'm most Proud of being one of Jehovah's witnesses."

There is no doubt that she had a tremendous love for Jehovah!

She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie & Percy Stanfield and a brother Percy Stanfield Jr.  

She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Juan Anthony Stanfield (Fragrance), a brother, John Stanfield (Mary), and three sisters, Chavonne Tigg Stanfield, Sallie Stanfield, Priscilla Stanfield Tucker (Sylvester), six grandchidren, Juavon Bell, Ryan Norwood, Jenil Bell, Jasmine Stanfield, Kylisha Tarver, and Juan Anthony Stanfield Jr., as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a lifelong Special Friend in Leela Hall.

Family will receive friends 3:00 p.m Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Brian K. Lewis Funeral Home, 2528 Bailey Ave., Buffalo, New York, 14215.  Funeral to follow at 4:00 p.m.
