Robert Smith Obituary

ROBERT LOUIS SMITH was born October 29, 1944 to the late James A. and Bertha Smith.

At the age of six, Robert moved to Macon, Georgia, relocating back to Buffalo, NY at the age of 17 with James Smith and Florence Davis. He met and married Paulette Clark, and to this union two sons, Robert L. Smith Jr, and Tige Kevin Smith Sr., were born.

Robert was a professional musician, and he loved to play the drums. He was a member and drummer of "The Smith Brothers," playing at many of the well-known nightclubs throughout the States. Robert played with the popular, James Brown, George Benson, and The Temptations, to name a few.

Preceding Robert in death is his sister, Gennie Smith; one brother, James A. Smith, Jr; and stepmother, Florence Davis.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory his ex-wife and friend, Paulette Moore (Carter); sons, Robert L Smith Jr and Tige Smith (Jeanette); sister, Adrienne Smith; brother, Raymond Smith; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild; a very dear and special friend, Kenneth Smith; an awesome niece, Marquita Crouch, and a host of other family and friends.

Family will recieve friends Thursday, July 12, 2018, 10 am at White Rock Missionary Baptist Church, 480 E. Utica St. Funeral to follow at 11am.
