OLIVER THOMAS LEWIS, was born to the late Ira and Corletta Palmer on June 1, 1938 in Buffalo, New York. He departed this life on the eve of Sunday, June 12, 2016 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Oliver attended the Buffalo Public School system. In 1956, he enlisted into the United States Navy, where he dutifully served his country until his honorable discharge in 1962.
In 1972, Oliver gainfully became employed by General Motors, Tonawanda Engine Plant, where he faithfully worked for 31 years, retiring on October 1, 2003. On March 18, 2010, Oliver united in holy matrimony to the former Renee Daniel.
Oliver is proceeded in death by his grandmother, Isabella Lewis; two uncles, Raymond Lewis and Theodore (Toddy) Lewis; cousins, Delora Lewis, Bruce Lewis and Calvin Lewis, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Renee (Peaches) Daniel-Lewis; three stepchildren, Vernon V. (Missy) Webster, George William Taylor, Jr., both of Canton, OH and Catrina R. Banks of Charlotte, NC; four cousins, Booker T. Lewis, Sr., Booker T. Lewis, Jr., Brenda Garrison and June Lewis; three Godchildren, Chief Calvin J (Keyshia) Lewis, Jr, Pernell Neal, Sr. and Nichelle Neal; three aunts, Ruby Feggins, Ruthie Miller and Grace (Louis) Manns and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Family will receive friends Saturday, June 18, 2016, 11am at Brian K. Lewis Funeral Home, 2528 Bailey Ave. Funeral to follow at 12 noon. Entombment will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Repast to follow at American Legion Bennett-Wells Post# 1780, 1356 E. Delavan Ave.
