Sonya T. Ofield

SONYA T. OFIELD was born October 14, 1960 to the late Betsy Lou Johnson(Austin) and Vernon Lee.

She was a very caring and giving person.  She was diagnosed with cancer in 2015 and lost her battle April 15, 2016.

Sonya went to Fillmore Middle and Woodlawn Junior High School.  She later worked as a janitor at school 11, and then later became a home maker when she married Walter Lee Ofield (deceased).  Sonya was the fifth child of 10 children, brothers Eric Ansley Nichols (deceased) Barret Johnson, Shawn and Shane Johnson (deceased).  Sisters Drusilla Johnson, Veronica (Johnson) Owens, Trina Johnson, Bridget Johnson and Regina.

She leaves to mourn two daughters Tamika (Whitfield) Grant, Tanya Ofield, and son in law Faron Grant.  Grandchildren Raymund McMillon, Dominic McMillon, Avion Grant, Derrion Grant, Avona Grant and Jayonna Carr, and a host of nieces and nephews.  She will be missed.

Family will receive friends Saturday, April 23, 2016 11:00 am at Brian K. Lewis Funeral Home, 2528 Bailey Ave, Buffalo, NY 14215.  Funeral to follow at 12 noon.
